Men’s Bible Study

"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, ACT LIKE MEN, be strong.”
1 Cor 16:13

Dwell men!!

I can’t wait to start the new year journey with you: growing together in the Word, growing together as ministers in & around Denver, growing together as husbands, fathers, sons and brothers.

I’m interceding NOW for 2024 and all that I believe WILL take place in our church, families and lives. Paul encouraged us in 1 Corinthians 16:13 to “"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, ACT LIKE MEN, be strong. (ESV - emphasis mine)

This is probably a politically / socially incorrect use of the phrase “act like men” that may get Paul cancelled in some arenas … but personally, it spurs me on. I hope it does you too.

Here’s what all this means for Dwell Men in 2024…

  • MEN’S BIBLE STUDY starting soon (Jan)! Along with the text that led you here to this page, you should have gotten a request asking which evening works best for you for bible study (i.e. Ladies’ Bible study is on Tuesday, most of us have lots of family commitments, travel, etc, does Wednesday or Thursday evening work better?)... please let me know as soon as you can which works better so we can get it on the calendar. If you're not able to make a 'weekly' commitment, but COULD do every-other week, please still sign up. I'm excited to grow with each of you.

  • BIBLE VERSIONS, ETC - Many of you have asked me about particular Bible versions, study bibles, Bible-in-a-year plans and more. I don’t necessarily feel it’s mandatory for everyone to read the same version or plan in order to grow together BUT it sure helps! How about this: I’ll tell you what I’m doing in 2024 and if you want to join the same journey, that’s AWESOME, we can do it together.

    • VERSION: Every year I read a different version to get different contexts and perspectives. This year I’ll be reading the ESV version.

    • STUDY BIBLE: totally not mandatory, but a “Study Bible” can be a huge help on your journey as they add comments, commentary, references & context to what you’re reading. There are literally DOZENS of Study Bibles to choose from. My parents got me an “Archeology Study Bible” for Christmas! It has cool commentary & study helps that focus on the historical settings and places in scripture. If you want to check out a study Bible we have SEVERAL at the Smith House to look at. Here are a few I’d recommend: Fire Bible, Apologetics Study Bible, Spirit Filled Life Study Bible, CSB Study Bible and more. If you have questions about any you find, ask away!
